Nutrition Pre Assessment

With nutrition pre assessment you will be able to determine where your students stand with their knowledge about the topic you are about to teach. This is useful technique to do for a professional teacher because once it is accomplished a teacher will create a lesson that will best suit her/his students and level of their comprehension.

If this technique is not executed then the teacher may put him/herself in a tough situation with students. Teacher may present information that is too hard and students will not learn and that is detrimental to students same as to the teacher.

Here is an example of my initial assessment for nutrition unit from Health Curriculum. I ask three basic questions:

Question 1: How do the Dietary Guidelines help you make responsible food choices?

Question 2: Why should you read the Nutritional Facts panel on a food package?

Question 3: What factors influence your food choices?

Based upon answers to these questions, I build my lesson plans for this unit.
