GOAL - At the end of this smartboard lesson plans the students will understand the concept of buddy system.

SWBAT

• - name four weather emergencies
• - explain what is buddy system
• - describe emergency procedures during hurricane - tornado - earthquake

Present four words to know and their definitions -

• Hypothermia
• Earthquake
• Hurricane
• Tornado

Then - perform this smartboard exercise with your students. Have your students come to the board and drag the right words in to the right definitions. See the video.

Continue your lesson with four basic outdoor rules -

• Buddy system
• Know your limits
• Know weather conditions
• Learn safety rules

Explain these four rules and describe the pictures for more deeper understanding.

At this time - see if your students understand these four rules by executing Smartboard lesson exercise. See the video.

Now - I'm going to present three weather emergencies and proper procedures for survival.

To check your students for understanding perform this exercise on the touch sensitive board. Have your students come to the board and match the right terms and right procedures to the right weather emergencies. See the video.
