Medicines Objectives

Sixth topic of Health Curriculum is medicines unit with medicines objectives. In this unit students will learn how to read and follow instructions, differentiate OTC and prescription medicines, and much more. Also, it identifies objectives with Bloom’s Taxonomy learning domains.

Objectives and outcomes:

  • Students will explain how medicines are grouped. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will explain indicators of physiological dependence. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will understand why it is important to adhere to the immunization schedule your physician has set. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will explain the purpose of guidelines for distributors of medicines. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will demonstrate an ability to read and follow package’s instructions of OTC or prescription medicines. (Knowledge, comprehension, application)
  • Students will compare OTC and prescription medicines. (Knowledge, comprehension, evaluation)
  • Students will list and describe four different examples of medicine misuse. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will be able to analyze and arrange examples of medicine misuse and examples of not medicine misuse. (Knowledge, comprehension, application, synthesis)
