Drugs Objectives

Seventh topic of Health Curriculum is drugs unit with drugs objectives. In this unit students will learn about consequences of tobacco and alcohol, and much more. Also, it identifies objectives with Bloom’s Taxonomy learning domains.

Objectives and outcomes:

• Students will state reasons why some teens smoke. (Knowledge)
• Students will explain how tobacco use is directly linked to respiratory and circulatory diseases, as well as variety of other health-related problems. (Knowledge, comprehension)
• Students will describe the health hazards that nonsmokers face when in a smoke-filled environment. (Knowledge, comprehension)
• Students will discuss the challenge of quitting smoking and positive steps that can be taken by smokers who want to quit. (Knowledge, comprehension)
• Students will be able to illustrate lungs of a smoker and non-smoker. (Knowledge, comprehension, application)
• Students will predict consequences of smoking. (Knowledge, comprehension, evaluation)
• Students will list reasons young people choose to drink. (Knowledge)
• Students will describe factors that affect teen alcohol use. (Knowledge, comprehension)
• Students will investigate the truth about some myths about alcohol. (Knowledge, comprehension, analysis)
• Students will explain the effects of alcohol on the body. (Knowledge, comprehension)
• Students will describe the consequences of drinking and driving. (Knowledge, comprehension)
• Students will identify the consequences of DWI and efforts to reduce DWIs. (Knowledge, comprehension)
• Students will explain the function and importance of a healthy liver. (Knowledge, comprehension)
