Body System Objectives

Fifth topic of Health Curriculum is body system unit with body system objectives. In this unit students will learn about reproductive systems, circulatory system, lymphatic system, and much more. Also, it identifies objectives with Bloom’s Taxonomy learning domains.

Body system objectives and outcomes:

  • Students will describe the structure and function of the male reproductive system. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will describe and write ways to care for the male reproductive system. (Comprehension, application)
  • Students will identify some disorders of the male reproductive system. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will list sports that they play and name protective equipment they wear during these sports. (Knowledge, application)
  • Students will construct correct sequence of steps to performing a testicular exam. (Knowledge, comprehension, synthesis)
  • Students will describe the structure and function of the female reproductive system. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will describe ways to care for the female reproductive system. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will identify some disorders of the female reproductive system. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will illustrate male and female reproductive systems with correct organ names on a poster. (Knowledge, comprehension, application)
  • Students will understand and analyze menstrual cycle. (Comprehension, analysis)
  • Students will estimate the days during which the ovum is most likely to be fertilized. (Evaluation)
  • Students will describe the pathways of pulmonary and systematic circulation. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will explain the purposes of arteries, capillaries, and veins. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will explain the function of the lymphatic system (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will be able to choose the blood vessels that carry blood from the lungs to the heart and the vessels that carry blood from the heart to the lungs. (Knowledge, comprehension, application)
  • Students will name two similarities and two differences between the circulatory and lymphatic systems. (Knowledge, comprehension, analysis, evaluation)
  • Students will identify risk factors related to the circulatory system. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will describe problems that affect the cardiovascular system. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will be able to choose and write a list of aerobic activities that increase pulse rate. (Application, synthesis)
  • Students will be able to recall iron-rich foods that help avoid getting anemia. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will explain the function of respiration. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will describe the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Student will identify, classify, and arrange ways to care for the respiratory system. (Knowledge, comprehension, synthesis)
  • Students will describe problems of the respiratory system. (Knowledge, comprehension)
  • Students will make a flowchart showing the movement of air into and out of the lungs. (Knowledge, comprehension, application)
  • Students will create a drawing that shows, without using words, what makes the upper respiratory system so vulnerable to infection. (Knowledge, comprehension, application)
  • Students will name situations that can trigger an asthma attack. (Knowledge)
